  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 lb broccoli (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate the sliced flank steak with baking soda, Shaoxing wine, soy sauces, white pepper, water, and cornstarch for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Mix the stir-fry sauce ingredients in a separate bowl; set aside.
  3. Boil broccoli for 1-2 minutes until bright green; drain and set aside.
  4. Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat; sear the beef until browned, then remove.
  5. Sauté garlic and ginger in the same pan, add broccoli, then return beef and pour in the stir-fry sauce. Toss to combine for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil before serving hot over rice or noodles.
