Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 pound large shrimp (raw, deveined)
  • 1 teaspoon blackened seasoning (plus more for steak)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound top sirloin steak (cut into cubes)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 small yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain but do not rinse.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil. Sear half the shrimp seasoned with blackened seasoning for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add cubed steak seasoned with blackened seasoning. Sear for about 4-5 minutes until browned and cooked to your liking. Set aside.
  4. Lower heat to medium-low; melt butter in the skillet and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Pour in heavy cream, bringing it to a simmer. Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
  6. Fold in cooked pasta, shrimp, and steak, adjusting consistency with reserved pasta water if needed. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with parsley.
