  • 23 pounds chicken bones (necks, feet, backs)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 810 cups water
  • Optional: 2 carrots
  • Optional: 2 celery stalks

Instructions

  1. Place chicken bones in a stockpot or slow cooker. If desired, chop carrots and celery; add to the pot.
  2. Pour apple cider vinegar over the bones and add enough water to cover them by an inch.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and let simmer for 12-24 hours.
  4. Once cooked, allow the broth to cool slightly before straining out solids using a strainer.
  5. Cool completely before serving or store in the refrigerator for up to five days or freeze in ice cube trays for up to three months.
