  • ⅔ cup unsalted butter
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • ⅔ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 Tablespoons unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon concentrated coffee (for frosting)
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons milk or cream (for frosting)
  • pinch of salt (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the brewed coffee until boiling, then reduce to 2 tablespoons and set aside.
  3. In another saucepan, melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate together over low heat until smooth.
  4. Remove from heat, stir in the reduced coffee, brown sugars, and eggs until combined.
  5. Fold in flour and salt gently until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. For frosting, beat together butter, concentrated coffee, milk/cream, powdered sugar, and salt until creamy. Spread over cooled brownies.
