  3. Add cold diced butter and pulse until the mixture resembles damp sand.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together egg, heavy cream, and vanilla; mix into dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Shape the dough into a square about 7 inches wide and cut into triangles; place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Brush tops with heavy cream and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  7. Bake for 12–17 minutes or until golden brown.
