  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup salted butter (softened)
  • 45 cups powdered sugar
  • 57 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Patriotic sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. Prepare cake mix according to package instructions.
  3. Divide batter into three bowls; color one blue and another red, leaving one white.
  4. Alternate pouring the colored batter into each liner until ¾ full.
  5. Lightly swirl the batter with a toothpick for a marbled effect.
  6. Bake for 18-21 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Melt white chocolate in intervals in the microwave; let cool.
  8. Beat softened butter until creamy; gradually add powdered sugar, heavy cream, and lemon juice.
  9. Mix in the cooled melted white chocolate until desired consistency is achieved.
  10. Frost cooled cupcakes using a piping bag; decorate with sprinkles and licorice.
