  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1 ½ cups filtered water
  • 1 teaspoon butter or olive oil

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice in a fine mesh strainer under cool running water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine water and butter or olive oil. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Stir in the rinsed rice once the water is boiling.
  4. Immediately cover the pot with a lid, reduce heat to low, and simmer gently for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
  5. After 15 minutes, remove from heat but let it rest covered for another 10 minutes.
  6. Fluff with a fork or spatula before serving.
