  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup Nutella
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for crumble topping)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for crumble topping)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for crumble topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for crumble topping)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted, for crumble topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325F (160C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, sugar, vanilla, flour, cornstarch, and salt. Mix until smooth and press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Spread Nutella evenly over the shortbread base.
  4. In another bowl, mix crumble ingredients until crumbly and sprinkle over the Nutella layer.
  5. Bake for about 35 minutes or until golden brown on top. Allow to cool before slicing.
