  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup crushed Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). In a cast iron skillet, melt the butter and let it heat in the oven.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the egg and water until combined.
  3. In a zip-top bag or shallow dish, mix crushed Panko breadcrumbs, flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Montreal steak seasoning.
  4. Dip each chicken leg into the egg mixture then shake in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
  5. Place coated chicken legs into the hot skillet, drizzle lightly with olive oil, and bake for about 30 minutes.
  6. Flip the chicken legs and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
