Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts (cut in half lengthwise)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter (divided)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream (full-fat)
  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional, to taste)

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken breasts in half lengthwise and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken until golden brown on both sides and cooked through; set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt remaining butter. Add sliced onions and sauté for about 10–15 minutes until caramelized.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat further and mix in sour cream until smooth; warm gently without boiling.
  7. Return chicken to the skillet, coating it with the sauce for about 3–5 minutes before serving.
