Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-ins
  • 1 cup diced apples peeled and cored
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce for drizzling

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  2. Fold in the diced apples.
Bake the Cookies
  1. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Drizzle with Caramel
  1. Once cookies are cooled, drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
