Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces ripe peaches Select peaches that yield slightly to pressure for optimal ripeness.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Adds sweetness to enhance the natural flavor of the peaches.
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon A warm spice that elevates the overall flavor profile.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Melted, adds richness and helps in caramelizing the peaches.
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract Provides depth and enhances sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar Packed, for added moisture and a hint of molasses flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice Brightens up the flavors, balancing the sweetness.
  • a pinch salt Enhances all the flavors by providing balance to the sweetness.

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits carefully. If desired, you can leave the skins on or peel them.
  3. Arrange the peach halves in a baking dish, cut side up.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Stir to mix well.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter and vanilla extract over the peach halves.
  6. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the peaches.
  7. Add a few drops of lemon juice to each peach half.
  8. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the peaches.
  9. Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the peaches are tender and the sugar mixture has melted into a syrup.
  11. Optional: For a golden, crispy top, remove the foil in the last 5 minutes of baking.
  12. Once baked, remove the peaches from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
