Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 small yellow or white onion Dice it finely.
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic Fresh garlic adds depth.
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes Forms the sauce.
  • 1 can (15.5 oz) diced tomatoes Adds texture.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce Enhances umami notes.
  • 2 tablespoons chili seasoning Homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 can (15.5 oz) dark red kidney beans Rinsed and drained.
  • 1 can (15.5 oz) light red kidney beans Also rinsed and drained.

Method
 

  1. Brown the Meat: In a large non-stick skillet, brown the ground beef along with the diced onion over medium-high heat. Stir in minced garlic just before removing from heat.
  2. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Transfer the meat mixture to the slow cooker, draining excess grease if necessary.
  3. Add Remaining Ingredients: Add crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire Sauce, and chili seasoning to the slow cooker. Stir well.
  4. Incorporate Beans: Add both varieties of kidney beans to the mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Cook Your Chili: Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
  6. Serve It Up: Stir the chili before serving hot, garnishing with toppings like cheese or sour cream.
