Baking Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans and line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with whole milk, until just combined.
- Gently fold in crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
Frosting Steps
- For frosting, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Frost between layers and on top of cooled cakes, garnishing with additional crushed Oreos.
