- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season chicken with salt and pepper and sear in olive oil until golden brown.
- Boil water in a large pot and cook penne pasta until al dente (8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix marinara sauce with Italian seasoning, then combine with cooked pasta.
- In a baking dish, layer half the saucy pasta at the bottom. Add chopped chicken and sprinkle half of the mozzarella on top.
- Layer the remaining pasta over the chicken, pour on more marinara, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove the foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
