Baking Process
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix sugar and vegetable oil until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by buttermilk and vanilla extract.
- Stir in red food coloring until desired color is achieved.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just blended.
- Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely on wire racks before frosting with cream cheese frosting.
