  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Whisk in the eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract until glossy.
  4. In another bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients while stirring gently.
  5. Fold in the chopped strawberries carefully to preserve their shape.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until set on top but still soft; a toothpick should come out with moist crumbs.
