Method
- Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and corn syrup over medium heat until bubbling gently. Stir until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and mix in peanut butter until smooth.
- Fold in the rice cereal gently until fully coated.
- Spread half of the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Melt butterscotch chips in the microwave (about 30 seconds) and pour over the first layer, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Spoon remaining cereal mixture on top, pressing down lightly. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
