Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, egg, cocoa powder, red food coloring, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Make the Filling
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter until well combined.
Assemble the Rolls
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the filling evenly over the dough, then roll it tightly from one end to the other.
- Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces and place them on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Rolls
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before frosting.
Prepare the Frosting

- Spread the frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
