Homemade Cajun Seafood Boil Recipe with Spicy Garlic Butter

Ingredients
  

Seafood and Sausage
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb crab legs king or snow crab
  • 1 lb andouille sausage sliced
  • 2 ears corn cut in half
  • 1 lb baby potatoes halved
Spices and Seasonings
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tbsp salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp black pepper to taste
Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce optional

Method
 

Prepare the Seafood Boil
  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add salt, Cajun seasoning, and Old Bay seasoning.
  2. Add the baby potatoes and corn, and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced sausage and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Finally, add the shrimp and crab legs, cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes until the shrimp are pink and the crab is heated through.
  5. Remove from heat and strain the seafood and vegetables, reserving some cooking liquid if desired.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, and hot sauce. Stir well.
Combine and Serve
  1. In a large serving bowl, toss the seafood and vegetables with the garlic butter sauce until well coated.
  2. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and additional hot sauce on the side.

Notes
