Ingredients
  

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 oz
  • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 container whipped topping 8 oz
  • Optional: chocolate shavings or sprinkles for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and oil until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool slightly, then poke holes across the top with a skewer or fork.
  5. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the poked areas and let it soak in.
  6. Drizzle chocolate syrup on top once cooled completely.
  7. Spread whipped topping evenly over the cake and add any desired garnishes.
  8. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
