  • 1 lb frozen gyoza dumplings Choose a high-quality brand for best results.
  • 1 lb heirloom tomatoes The more colorful, the better!
  • 1 English cucumber Or 4 Persian cucumbers.
  • 5 scallions Thinly sliced.
  • 1 red chili pepper Optional for heat.
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves Fresh herbs elevate the dish's aroma and flavor profile.
  • 3 Tbsp Tamari Low sodium, gluten-free soy sauce alternative.
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar Adds tanginess that balances the dish.
  • 2-3 tsp maple syrup Sweetens the dressing naturally.
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds For garnish or crispy fried onions.
  • Garlic chili sauce For an extra kick of heat when serving.
  • Optional Add Ins Thinly sliced cabbage, carrot, bean sprouts, edamame.

Method
 

  1. Steam the potstickers or dumplings according to the package instructions. Once cooked, transfer them to a large bowl and toss gently with a teaspoon of sesame oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine Tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup to create a savory-sweet dressing. Drizzle this mixture over the steamed dumplings in the large bowl and carefully toss them until they are thoroughly coated.
  3. Cut the heirloom tomatoes into wedges and thinly slice both the English cucumber and scallions. Add these fresh ingredients along with the optional red chili pepper into the bowl containing dumplings.
  4. Tear fresh basil leaves over the top of your mixed ingredients for added flavor and fragrance. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds or crispy fried onions on top as a delightful garnish before serving.
  5. Serve this refreshing Potsticker Salad at room temperature or chilled, depending on your preference. For an extra kick, offer garlic chili sauce on the side.
