Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Ice cream optional, for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cast-iron skillet or oven-safe dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, sift together flour and baking soda; gradually add to wet ingredients while mixing gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula without overmixing.
  6. Transfer batter to the prepared skillet; bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown but soft in the center.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm with ice cream on top.
